Here are ten things you only know if you’re got two little people in your life.
People made WAY more of a big deal about the first sprog
When you had your first baby, friends and relatives swarmed around you and your newborn, showering them with gifts and visits like no ones business. Now you’re on your second, people are less bothered - apart from your very inner circle - and that’s OK.
You’ve perfected a few things
The first baby is always understandably overwhelming, you’ve got no idea how things work or what to do in certain situations. The second time around, it’s obviously less scary - you know that when the baby cries at 3AM, the world isn’t ending.
Your two favourite people are now your screensaver

Matching outfits are now a thing
You know they’ll kill you when they’re adults for this, but sometimes, it’s just so much easier to dress them in the same outfit!!
Convincing babysitters is a lot harder
When you had one tot it was all ‘oh nooo, I don’t mind looking after them,’ but now there are two…not so much. You can only pray that one day they’ll need the mother of all favours, and you can exchange them for two tiny tots on a Saturday night.
You feel guilty all the time
You either feel guilty that you’re spending too much time with the youngest, or vice versa with the eldest. It’s a losing battle which sadly, you will probably always be fighting!
The eldest gets SUPER emotional when the baby gets attention
It’s hard to give up the gauntlet of being an only child and accept there’s a bright, shiny new person for people to coo over, and the eldest does struggle with this initially.
But eventually they become their new favourite play thing
Children are adorably adaptable, aren’t they? Very quickly they will not only accept the newcomer, but realise they can be part of their games, and their new best friend.
You’re now the queen or organisation
You have to be. If you haven’t got a strict schedule, nothing happens! Hence why our diary is now your favourite thing in the world.
