There’s no doubt about it; becoming a mum or dad for the first time is seriously exciting.
But this new dad looks like he got a teeny bit carried away when he decided to snap a selfie in the delivery room.
Yup, with his wife in labour behind him.
The resulting shot is a thing of absolute joy and hilarity; Gil Solano can be seen beaming in the foreground, as wife Sarah grimaces in pain behind him.
Pleased with his efforts, Gil uploaded the photo to Imgur, where it has since been viewed over 2 MILLION times!
He captioned the shot: “My wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today.
“So I took one.”

The comments underneath the photo, however, suggested that Gil might just be a dead man when his wife recovered and realised what had happened.
“Sorry to hear she'll grow up without a father,” quipped one user.
Another added: “Today your family gained one life, and lost another.”
And still one more said: “Post updates to this regularly so that we know she hasn't killed you yet.”
But don’t worry; it turns out that Gil is absolutely safe - his wife has a sense of humour, you see.
Speaking to Buzzfeed, he said: “My favorite response was Sarah’s response to me reading her the comments of everyone saying, ‘She’s going to kill you.’
“She thinks it’s hilarious that people would expect her to respond like that when she thinks the picture itself is so funny.”
Phew!
