A hotel in Majorca has founded a "sanctuary" for all the inflatable pool toys that get leftover after the summer holiday season is over.

Hotels.com set up the haven at the Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma hotel as a response to the overwhelming number of blow-up toys left behind by hotel guests.

Of course, it makes sense to leave them behind as they're relatively inexpensive - and why would you make room for a used inflatable toy when you could be taking home holiday tat?!

Newly arriving guests are then able to "adopt" the floatie that they like the most - it's basically recycling!

Hotels.com also took it upon themselves to find out which other holiday necessities are most likely to be left behind, surveying 2,000 holidaymakers.

They found that only 28% of people take their floaties home, despite an average six hours and 52 minutes spent playing with them over their summer holiday.

What else gets left behind?!
