In her exclusive Closer Online column, Kellie opens up about first time motherhood and adapting to life with two babies…

“December. What a difference a year makes...

“So, I'm stood trying to dry my hands under a silver box - confused it's not working - when the woman next to me politely tells me it's a tampon dispenser. I'm so ridiculously tired. These babies are breaking me but boy, have they got the best smiles!

“Cut to: This time last year, wondering how/why I could no longer fit into my costume (channelling a glamour model at The Theatre Royal Haymarket) –thankfully the zip kept getting moved by the lovely costume department. Hmmm… too many glasses of red wine aka empty calories are to blame...

“New Year’s Eve, and I think I've been really nice all month: Two months - no PMT = no period and, yes, still getting fatter… Could. it. be? And… Yes - boom - there it is, staring right back at me in a loo just off Trafalgar Square. I’m having cold sweats. I start smiling. Sex works – who'd have thought it?! Amazing.

“My husband [Phil Davies] and I decide to keep quiet about it (for the time being) I need to get my head around all this and, most importantly, until I see that tiny flickering heartbeat, I don't quite believe the little white stick with the fat inky blue lines across it.

“Now for the hard bit - trying not to draw attention to the fact I'm not drinking! Thank God for dry January: the perfect disguise and it's not too long before the 12 week scan beckons. While there, sat holding hands, we see on the screen not one flickering heartbeat but TWO! Blimey, sex really DOES work. The roller coaster begins.

“We change hospitals to the brilliant Kings College - and again we’re reminded how fantastic the NHS is, where there we donate the twins’ cord blood (usually binned) to the equally brilliant Anthony Nolan charity - they’re becoming life savers at birth, how cool is that?!

“So here I am looking back at 2015. Gone are the tight party dresses, instead in their place are my beloved pyjamas (that I never quite manage to get out of!), permanently covered in baby sick and I'm thinking I'm in need of a Fairy Godmother for Christmas!”
