Vicki Psarias – aka award-winning blogger The Honest Mum – tells Closer why it’s important to keep it real with family life
They’re constantly flaunting their extravagant Hollywood life, complete with lavish family parties, photoshoots and bling gifts – but mum blogger Vicki Psarias, aka Honest Mum, says normal mums have to keep in mind that their lifestyle isn’t exactly the norm.
Vicki, who has two sons called Oliver, nine, and Alexander, six, says: "Motherhood for the Kardashians means lots of staff, lots of help, sleep nannies and all sorts going on and it seems like they are being quite real to themselves. But it can be dangerous for some people because they’re looking up and trying to emulate a very unobtainable version of motherhood when only about 1% of the world can live like that! Normal mums shouldn’t put any kind of pressure of themselves.
"It would be amazing if they were as honest about the downs as well as all of the ups. But then perhaps that’s just the way they want to represent themselves. I do like watching them – they’ve had some really tough times – the whole incident (where Kim was robbed) in Paris was really shocking.
"And on their reality show, they share their relationship woes and problems and they were on of the first families to do that. But on social media you see Kim’s six-year old daughter North on the front of a magazine, wearing makeup quite a bit. This is what they feel is appropriate but it’s not for everyone out there. I’d tell mums to listen to themselves and do what makes you happy with your own family."

Vicki – who released her bestselling book Mumboss: The Honest Mum's Guide to Surviving and Thriving at Work and at Home last year – showed how she keeps it real herself by posting a picture of herself post-birth in a bikini, which went viral in 2015.
She says: "It was a picture of me on holiday in Jamaica, I didn’t realise it was going to be such a big deal! It was two years after I had my son Alexander, who is now six. I knew my tummy wasn’t perfect but I felt confident and I thought I would wear a bikini.
"I had women saying to me, 'I’m going to go swimming with my children for the first time because I’ve seen that picture.' The picture was taken four years ago before there was so much candid body sharing showing the reality of post-baby bodies so it hit a nerve with people in a good way."

And Vicki commends celebs like Stacey Soloman, who recently posted a pic of her hairy pregnancy belly, for helping normalize the different aspects of motherhood.
The blogger – who is supporting Bauer Media’s campaign for Mental Health Week, Where’s Your Head At – adds: "Stacey’s really honest about what she’s going through and it makes other people feel normal. It’s a really important conversation for our mental health. It reassures us that we’re all the same really."
