Planning a Halloween wedding? These beautifully spooky DIY projects are guaranteed to give your guests a day to remember...
For some people, the idea of a summery white wedding in a church is their idea of hell.
Some people would MUCH prefer a spook-tastic day full of ghoulish goings-on and ghostly guests – with a very definite frightening theme!
If you're more of a creepy couple, you might consider looking to Halloween for your special day – here are 13 ways to make your marriage magical

1) Blackberry prosecco flutes
So simple - and so effective. Instead of the normal strawberries or pomegranate seeds, just pop one or two blackberries into your champagne flutes for a burst of flavour and chicness - they’re in season this time of year, after all.
J'adore.
2) Bridesmaids and broomsticks
Everyone will fall under the spell of your bewitching bridesmaids if you swap their posies for decorative broomsticks! You can still make them fun and flirty if you so chose by adding dark-coloured flowers to the bristles
Alternatively, you could simply add Witches hats to their bridesmaids outfits, like this couple did whose wedding fell on a Friday 13th.
3) Spooky wedding cake toppers
Yeah, you COULD go for the standard marzipan people on top of your wedding cake, but if you're looking for something a bit different, you could try something like these spooky cake toppers. If you're on a budget, they'd be pretty easy to craft out of something non-toxic that can go in the cake, but if you can stretch, these personalised cake toppers from Etsy would be literally perfect
4) Halloween wedding lanterns
Why not light the way with these gorgeous homemade candles? Again, you could buy some but it could be so easy to do them yourself with the right kit
5) Alternative wedding lighting
Aren't these little tealight holders the cutest? If you're wanting a slightly spooky theme but still quite tasteful, these lanterns could be spot on for your special day. And they could easily be adapted for a Christmas wedding theme, too
6) Halloween pumpkin carving for your wedding
You could literally do ANYTHING with a pumpkin – and what says Halloween or spookiness more than the orange autumnal fruit. You could carve your new surname into one, go with a simple "Just Married" – or even go for the date of your special day
7) Gothic wedding cakes
Wild flowers + black = the perfect wedding cake for a Halloween twist. There are so many wedding cake decorators out there who will do literally whatever you ask for instead of insisting that you pick a traditional three-tiered white fondant-covered fruit cake
8) Halloween wedding favours
Spooky AND romantic? We’re definitely on board with these homemade love potions. Don't worry – we're not expecting you to actually take up witchcraft (unless you want to of course!). You could make some lovely bubble bath or fill it with some sort of delicious alcoholic beverage... Yeah, let's go with booze
9) Pumpkin wedding decorations
Totally autumnal, and totally beautiful. If you're looking to theme your wedding around Halloween, choose a colour palette of oranges, reds, and yellows. And DEFINITELY use pumpkins to your advantage, like as an aisle decoration
10) Find wedding inspiration in films
We know it's (technically) a children's film, but the wedding vows from The Corpse Bride could be literally perfect for your big day. They’re romantic and take the union seriously - all whilst keeping a fun creepy touch
Alternatively, if you REALLY love Tim Burton's films, dedicate your entire wedding cake to the film and have a Jack Skellington and Sally wedding cake like this couple did.
11) Choose a black wedding dress
A gothic gown like this one could be the dress you've been looking for. Deep hues of black and orange pulled together with traditional elements of white make for an elegant (and memorable) Hallowedding!
12) Fancy a wedding photobooth?
Photo booths have come into fashion in a big way. If you've got the dosh, splash out on a company who will come and set the whole thing up for you, and even stay to help take the photos. If not, you can set one up yourself with empty photo frames that your guests can pose behind - it’ll look fabulous
13) Get gothic with the details
Basically, as long as everything is black and orange, you've won. These black napkins are held together by a beautiful silver web-detailed ring. These detailed napkin rings from Etsy are only £8.99 for 6, and could add the perfect finishing touch to your day.
