Well what a lovely and eventful week it's been and it's so nice to finally get my energy back!
During my first trimester (weeks 1-12) I really noticed a big difference in my energy levels... I could have slept for England! There seemed to be no finer place to be than curled up on the sofa watching a movie and my idea of a great evening was going to bed as early as possible. Well thank the Lord that's over! I'm now managing to make weekly plans and have evenings out without being nervous that I'll start yawning in people's faces! Well, not consistently anyway... I managed to disguise it when it does happen.
It's been brilliant to be out and about and see my friends, one night I even managed to stay out till 1.30am!!!
But with all of these dates I've had an absolute nightmare finding outfits to wear. I'm too big for my fat clothes, yet too small for my maternity outfits- ARGH!!!!!!
It almost got to the point where I nearly gave up on going out all together. I'm finally feeling great so I want to look good too! Is that too much to ask?!
After trying on most of my wardrobe, I eventually came across a couple of floaty tops which matched perfectly with my life-saving H&M leggings, which I'm living in right now.
I also did some alterations to an old summer dress which, I have to say, I'm very proud of myself for doing and really enjoyed it!
I'm really feeling the empire look is working for my figure, pinch in under the bust and fall past the hips without clinging onto them is always going to work for the pregnant lady! So I'll be re-creating some outfits from my wardrobe to get that style- Looks like I've found a pregnancy hobby!
It's funny really, it's taken some getting use to my daily changing figure. As much as I'm embracing my pregnancy body, I won't lie, it's not always easy. It's so important for me that I enjoy every moment of my pregnancy. To dress and wear my bump with pride is something I really want to make the most of!!
Now something that has been creeping in slowly and has now kicked into full swing, is my memory loss….What's that about? Well it seems that no one really knows! Apparently, your brain gets smaller due to your baby growing and could have something to do with forgetfulness, short-term memory loss, lack of concentration and ability to retain new information. The worrying part is that it gets worse in the 3rd trimester and it's pretty bad now!
I'm struggling to form sentences, remembering what to pick up from the shops, even if I have a list on me, is a regular occurrence! And writing this blog has taken me forever with my ever wandering mind!!!! It's so frustrating and as I recall, it didn't get back to normal till Corey was around 12 months. Oh the joys!!!!!
I'm sure there will be more stories on my terrible memory but for this week that's all for now.
