Lauren, 28, welcomed us into her modern 2-bed apartment, each with en-suite. She had just stepped out of the bath when we arrived answering the door to us fresh-face and make-up free, in leggings and a T-shirt.

Her home was immaculate – although she did tell us that the cleaner had just been the day before! And like the perfect hostess, she offered us a drink before sitting herself at the glass dining table to have her hair and make-up done – with Keeping up with the Kardashians on in the background.

My favourite space is my living room – it’s so light and airy during the day, but it still feels cosy at night. I’m a bit of a home girl these days, and love to have friends over for a catch up or just chill in front of the TV. My old house never really felt like home – this one does though.

I based the décor around the designer wallpaper. I moved in just after Christmas, and was really lucky that it had just been beautifully decorated. It actually used to belong to Billi Mucklow and Andy Carroll. The wallpaper, which I inherited, is Roberto Cavalli, so I worked around the neutral colours to add my own touch. I don’t like bright colours or bold prints anyway.

Lauren covers her home with candles

My flat is filled with candles. I always have a couple burning. My favourite brands are Jo Malone, and Sandy Bay- they smell amazing and fill the whole flat with a lovely smell. I treated myself to a huge, embellished one when I moved in– it cost £250 from Zee & Co, but I probably wont burn it as its for display purposes only!

I love a bit of bling. Most of my home, from picture frames to furniture, is mirrored. It makes everything feel brighter and is very much my style. I had the curtains made when I moved in too and have the trim covered in diamantes – you can never have too much sparkle!

Lauren loves the luxury look

Different fabrics and textures can really make a place your own. I have lots of different cushions from Homesense and The Range, and I’m really pleased with my fluffy rug from Dunelm. You don’t need to spend a fortune on making your home feel special – I love a bargain!

Flowers are great for adding colour. I love fresh flowers but I also filled a tall vase with lots of individual faux blooms from Dunelm– at least they’ll last.
