In 2010, the 5ft 1 ITV weather girl went from a size 16 and 10st 5lbs to a tiny size 8. After exercising regularly with a personal trainer and following a high-protein diet, she went down to 7½ st. And now, more than a year on, Clare is a healthy 8st and a size 8.
She says: “I’ve put on 7lbs, but I look better for it. It’s a more realistic weight to maintain.”
Here, Clare reveals how you can keep off those pounds – just like she has.
Small plate = Small waist
“I used to eat the same portions as my husband, Chris, but soon realised that was contributing to my weight gain. Now, I use a smaller plate so I can control my portion sizes and not feel tempted to overeat.”
Have weekends off
“I have three strict days, where I really watch what I eat, and two moderate days. I then eat and drink what I want at weekends – I love my sauvignon blanc! That way, I don’t feel deprived. Plus it’s easier to stick to than a rigid seven-day diet.”
Don't get hungry!
“I don’t like to get too hungry as it makes me crave junk food. I eat six small meals a day and snack on veg and lean ham. If I’m at home, I’ll cook prawns and garlic – that keeps me going between meals.”
