The actress doesn’t abide by a particular diet but does try to keep healthy by choosing foods that are less processed and more natural. She recommends including whole grain products such as brown rice and grain produce like pasts, cooked and raw veg, beans and bean products.

"Just have a little bit of something that you want. Don't overdo it”

And like any sensible girl, Leighton knows depriving youself entirely is never the answer "Just have a little bit of something that you want. Don't overdo it,” says the actress.

When it comes to her exercise regime, the size 8 star 5ft 5 star follows a 5-factor workout. This involves working out for 25 minutes a day for 5 days a week and combines cardio work, strength training and core exercise.

When in LA she trains with Justin Falahi, and the personal trainer shared their workout plan:

Justin used a method which takes in the clients ‘body type’ analysis.

"It's helpful to know your body type when you want to get fit, lose weight or build muscle," he explains .

"I devise the right training for each body type. I look at the body shape first off.

"For example, Leighton is a Mesomorph, so I adapted the regime accordingly. Her balance and co ordination needed work and so we improved those areas within a few weeks."

Justin created a training regime of 45 minute sessions for the actress with a warm up to get her blood flowing, followed by different balance exercises and a meditation at the end.

Justin and Leighton work out together at the park, where they use the playground and park benches — and whatever else they can find — to do strength moves.

The exercises include jumping squats, the flamingo (arms curling, torso tightening, legs kicking back), planks, using gym bands, frog jumps (leap frogs), rolling on a ball with push ups and various push/pull exercises.

"We keep moving in the session, we don’t count sets and we move swiftly from one exercise and one body part to another.

"Time flies and the heart rate is kept up.

The sessions involved combining all the movements, but eventually with very low execution."

And when it comes to the diet for his famous client, Justin says.

Exercising

"I’m all for the super-foods like kale, then adding things spirulina into the mix," he says.

"I advise eating natural and raw, so things like brown rice, whole grains and fruit are great. I always say don’t eat late and think simplistically. To lose weight eat less calories and work out!"

Justin’s top workout tips are to make working out fun, so don’t always go to the gym, push yourself and focus on your weaknesses, meditate at the end of your workouts and eat organic foods.
