What was your last splurge buy?

I don’t tend to splurge. I live within my means except for Christmas when I usually go all out. I do like to splash out on a nice bottle of something fizzy but the most extravagant thing I’ve ever bought is my house.

Have you ever regretted anything you’ve purchased?

I love trainers and have too many pairs to count. I once paid a fortune for a pair online and when they arrived I didn’t even like them.

How are you with managing your money?

When I was growing up we were on a tight budget so that taught me to spend carefully and plan for my future.

What's your biggest weakness when it comes to spending?

Food! I live by myself and can spend £400 on one week’s food when I only went out for some bread. You are what you eat.

What’s the most generous gift you’ve bought for someone else?

Definitely holidays. I am always whisking my friends and family all over the place. I love travelling and have been known to book things spontaneously. If you spend your money wisely you can buy memories that will last forever.

List the last five things you last bought…

  • Logs for my log burner. £20

  • Sausages from my local butcher. £3

  • Champagne & Chambord. £120

  • Summerhouse. £2000

  • Tailoring and dry cleaning. £50
