It’s become the UK’s hottest holiday destination, visited by Millie Mackintosh and Ollie Locke and now Made In Chelsea star Cheska Hull gives us the lowdown on where to stay, find the best cocktails and surf on the sandy beaches!

She left Made In Chelsea a decade ago to relocate to Devon – and Cheska Hull says she’s never looked back.

Now the star – who is getting married in the beautiful Devonshire countryside next year - tells us why Salcombe is the perfect family holiday destination.

Cheska tells Closer, “Salcombe is the most amazing place for a staycation. It has the most beautiful beaches and coves, delicious food and drink and so many walks for adventures with the kids. We love it down here and there’s always something new to discover. These are my top tips!”

To stay

Soar Mill Cove is set into one of the most beautiful coves in Devon

I’d recommend Soar Mill Cove. It’s an incredible family-run hotel where the Hollywood elite have stayed, including Audrey Hepburn! It’s perfect for families with an indoor pool and lots of rolling countryside to run around in. There is a beautiful walk directly from the hotel to a secluded National Trust beach, the perfect size for little ones to explore and jump into the waves.

The rooms have stunning views of the sea and there’s even a tennis court and an mini adventure playground to entertain the kids. There’s also a spa for the adults where you can escape for some much-needed me-time.

The bedrooms have stunning views of the rolling countryside and beach

They also have an award-winning restaurant on site to cater to every palate from whole lobster to Westcountry ribeye. There’s a kids’ menu too to keep everyone happy!

To drink: I always head to Salcombe Distilling Co which is located right in the middle of town. As well as enjoying the views of the sea from their trendy harbour, you can also sign up for their gin experience. This involves enjoying the gin whilst making your own bottle from hundreds of scents and spices. They also do a rum class.

Salcombe Gin has a waterside distillery for their world-famous brand

There are several wonderful independent boutiques in Salcombe, my favourite has to be Will Bees Bespoke.  All the bags and clutches are made by hand in the Salcombe store with the most beautiful fabrics and you can even get your name embossed on the leather.

It's really important to support local brands especially when they offer such fun, unique products you can't get in London!

Planet Warrior have an amazing collection of sustainable swim

My go-to swimwear brand would be Planet Warrior, another local brand made by my two friends in Salcombe, the swimsuits and leisure wear is made from recycled plastic bottles and it's the perfect cossi to wear when paddleboarding in the Salcombe Estuary.
