The three-month-old pygmy hippo calf is on the endangered species list, and therefore all the more treasured.
Starting off life with his own inside pool, he has now taken his first few tentative steps into the outside world.
Speaking about the boisterous little fellow, zoo keeper Mark Holden said:
‘He’s hugely important to the captive population because his mother had never bred in captivity. There’s only a one in five chance for a male to be born which makes him even more precious.
‘I would go as far as to say he’s probably the most important baby hippo in captivity in Europe at the moment, if not the world.’
Argh we want one!
