Laundry Deal FAQs
When does the Amazon Spring Sale end?
Amazon's Spring Deal Days started on Monday the 25th and is running savings until the 31st - which gives us a whole week to grab some deals on detergents. You won't want to miss out.
How do I choose the best laundry detergent?
I've got some factors to run by you before you buy:
The type of detergent can affect the results of your wash. Liquids work best for stains, whereas powder is believed to be fab for larger loads - and pods? Well, they're super convenient.
Skin is the most important factor, to me anyway. There are plenty of hypoallergenic or fragrance-free detergents knocking about to prevent any nasty flare-ups.
Stain removal can vary from detergent to detergent. Enzyme-based picks are best for tougher stains.
Fabric type should come into play when making your decision. Gentle detergents are best for delicate fabrics, and heavy-duty powders can sort out work clothes like no one's business.
Fragrance can be down to personal choice.
What are some other money-saving laundry hacks?
If you're determined to save, I have some tips for you...
Use less detergent as most loads don't need that much (!)
Wash in colder water to save energy and prevent shrinking.
Fuller loads can maximise each wash and reduce water usage.
Skip fabric softener when it's not needed - and use vinegar instead.
Air dry when possible, as tumble dryers cost so much to run.
Clean your lint filter regularly to help everything run efficiently.
