With millions in the bank it’s no wonder celebrities love splashing the cash on expensive equipment to help them look perfect 24/7.

Coleen Rooney has been using a Technoshape machine (£600 for 12 sessions), dubbed a ‘non surgical tummy tuck’, which uses stomach sculpting technology to boost the fat-burning process.

Meanwhile Cheryl Cole is a fan of Hypoxi therapy (£500 for 12 sessions), to get red carpet ready.

The treatment is said to reduce inches and cellulite by creating a pressurised environment inside a chamber while you cycle inside.

But you don’t need a celebrity bank balance to lose weight and look great. Here we reveal the best quick (and free!) flat tummy tricks:

Eat ‘clean’

Avoid processed foods with a high salt content, which creates bloating. Instead follow Elle MacPherson’s lead and only eat whole foods such as vegetables that you can recognise and which haven’t been tampered with in a manufacturing plant.

Limit booze

Keep alcohol and fizzy drinks to a minimum, which both cause bloating. Gemma Atkinson limits herself to one big night out a month, and drinks low calories drinks including vodka lime and soda.

Eat more protein

Scarlett Johansson follows a high protein diet rich in turkey, chicken and fish and we all know how amazing she looks! She also bakes or grills her food instead of frying to save clocking up unnecessary calories.

Ban carbs after 6pm

It doesn’t mean you can’t eat carbs at all. Just incorporate them into your diet earlier in the day so you have time to work them off before bed!

Eat soup before each meal

It sounds mad to add calories to your meal but studies have shown that people who had soup before the ‘main event’ tended to eat less as they are already halfway to feeling full.

Ditch saturated fats

These fats, found in greasy foods such as crisps, chocolates and the latest trend for cronuts (a croissant-doughnut fusion) might taste delicious but they won’t do your waistline any favours. Instead try making your own crisps by baking thin slices of apple, parsnip and carrot with a little salt and one cal spray oil.

Do the plank

Halle Berry loves doing the plank to keep her tummy toned. Lie on the floor resting on your forearms. Push off the floor raising up onto toes and resting on your elbows. Keep your back flat and in a straight line from head to toe (like a plank). Hold your position still for 20 seconds, building up to 60 as your fitness levels rise.

Drink green tea

There’s a reason celebrities rave about this drink – it’s full of antioxidants which are known to help boost the metabolism and speed up the fat burning process.
