Throwback to when everyone wanted to be city worker.

Nowadays, with Youtube stars like Zoella Sugg, Tanya Burr, Alfie Deyes and Casper Lee carving out massive success off their own back, it's no wonder kids want more unconventional jobs.

Author of The Million Dollar Blog and entrepreneur Natasha Courtenay-Smith has said: "I'm not surprised by the latest research about how youngsters are shunning university and conventional routes into careers.

"University is so expensive nowadays why get saddled by debt when you can carve a fantastic career from the comfort of your own home?"

The new research has shown that the top five 'dream' jobs for young people include writer, bloggers and vloggers.

Indeed, it's been reported that 26-year-old Zoella earns £50k a month. She also recently launched a new range of household products. In a word, we totally understand why young people would want to be a Youtuber, too.

While many parents may be reluctant for their children to have an unconventional career - after all, we all only want the best for our children - in her new book, Natasha outlines the very real ways in which your child (or you!) can earn a six figure salary from a hobby.

7 things we learned from the new book The Million Dollar Blog...

  • Getting past the first six months is the hardest because by that point many people lose interest when they're not instantly famous

  • To help get passed the six months mark you need to have a unique vision

  • You need to be passionate about your topic

  • Have a goal from the beginning

  • Blogging is not always easy but you can't begin to learn until you start

  • Becoming successful at anything does not happen overnight

  • You will learn as you go along
