After a week of political madness, football-shaped heartbreak, Glastonbury aftermath and and lots of drizzling rain - we think it's time for some television therapy...

There's loads to entertain yourselves with on the box this weekend; from the flamboyant Louie Spence to Avatar so put your feet up and sit back and relax.

Please note: There is A LOT of football action on this weekend (sadly no show from our england boys) so schedules are very likely to be moved around.

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

The flamboyant star of the reality hit that was Pineapple Dance Studios turns his hand to driving a mini-cab around Harlow in Essex (getting himself a proper private operators license and everything). He’ll be picking up real punters and the odd celebrity passenger in a fun mix of real world happenings and “surprises” in store.

Best of Glastonbury 2016 - 11.15PM, BBC2

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

This roundup of highlights – and a celebration of Glasto 2016 - saves us all a lot of bother.

AVATAR, James Cameron's "Techinal Marvel" - 8PM, C4

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

From James Cameron (Mr Titanic) comes this 2009 mammoth hit – starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver. Hailed as a “technical marvel”, it went on to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time; the story of indigenous creatures of an exotic planet battling human colonists (more fun than it sounds). It’s set in the bright and vibrant world of Pandora, full of exotic creatures – and for ages afterwards everyone was endlessly amused by computer apps which could turn your face blue.

DYK? Avatar 2 – a sequel to this hit film - is currently in the planning stage, with a release date scheduled for December 2018. Though it won’t be called Avatar 2…

Hmmmmm, the suspense!

Charlotte's Web - 5:05PM, ITV2

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

A pig and a spider!

Porker Wilber finds out what happens to piggy-wigs when the dinner table beckons, gulp... Luckily, he makes friends with Charlotte the spider – who hatches a clever plan to save him and make him famous, all with the help of some fancy web work. Dakota Fanning is in this as the pig’s sweet little girl owner. (Not one for arachnaphobes).

THIS IS 40 - 9PM, E4

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann star in this “sort of sequel” to Knocked Up – about a couple dealing with the impending doom of hitting 40. Their kids hate each other, both of their businesses are failing and their relationship is falling apart.

But wait! It is a comedy, right? And there are plenty of funny bits as well as all the woe.

Wanted (James McAvoy action flick) - 11.10PM, C4

What to watch 1-3 July 2016

James McAvoy is Wesley – a frustrated office worker whose luck is about to change when he finds out he’s the son of a professional assassin, result! But then Daddio is murdered, and he ends up being recruited into his father’s old organisation and thus follows in his footsteps. Angelina Jolie is in this too, as the aptly named “Fox”.
