As David Tenant and Olivia Colman reprise their roles as detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller, they will have to confront issues in the small town where the drama first unfolded back in 2013.
The new series will begin on Monday 5th January, so for anyone heading back to the office, there will be something to look forward to after a long old slog of a day.
After the identification of Danny Latimer’s murderer in series 1, the second instalment delves into the aftermath of the tragedy, showing the small town’s residents in shock at the revelation.
And from the looks of the trailer, despite the trauma of past events, the two detectives must join forces once more to solve a further crime, with David Tennant’s character telling Olivia Colman: ‘I can’t do it alone.’
