He’s little known outside of the vlogging world, but YouTuber and singer Harvey Cantwell, who goes by HRVY on his vlog, is already the hot favourite to reach the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard final with his pro partner, Janette Manrara.
The 21 year old was pitched as joint favourite to win against actress Maisie Smith, with judge Motsi Mabuse praising Harvey and Janette’s moves as “the best first dance I have ever seen”.
Away from the dance floor, he’s sparked speculation of a romance with EastEnders actress Maisie, 19.
Keeping us guessing, he gushes, “Yeah, she’s beautiful. I mean, she is very beautiful! When I saw her in her blue dress…wow, she looked incredible. She’s got great banter and we really do get on. We speak outside of the show.”
However, Janette has other ideas. “We’re focused on the competition, aren’t we Harvey?” she jokes, and luckily, he’s on board… for now. “Yeah, we’re focused on the competition. Anyway, you’ve got to stay two metres apart from everybody, so I can’t even get close to her!” he adds.
He later revealed his plans to take her “out for dinner” after the show has finished.
Relationship rumours went into overdrive at the start of last month when the pair were snapped standing less than two metres from each other as they arrived to film Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two. Harvey apologised shortly afterwards, saying they “forgot for a split second” not to be two metres apart, insisting they “do try to remember”. They also appeared to be the last to leave the Strictly studio on last week’s show, exiting just minutes apart.
Maisie is equally as complimentary of Harvey, recently saying, “He is a beautiful-looking guy. But I have only seen him for a couple of hours a week so I am still enjoying getting to know him. I don’t know what would happen in the future, but for now we are getting along really well as friends.”
