Strictly Come Dancing’s professionals are reportedly terrified they face the axe now this year’s series has ended.

Producers are reportedly trying to think of ways to shake the show up to keep it fresh and it may mean some dancers will get the chop.

Former favourites James Jordan and Robin Windsor are no longer on the show and the current dancers could be going the same way.

A show source told the Daily Star Sunday: “All of the professionals have loved this series and want to continue being part of the Strictly family.

“They won’t have confirmation about who is being asked back until at least next May.

“That means five months of worrying.”

It is thought that Kristina Rihanoff will return to the BBC ballroom dance contest after having a year off following the birth of her baby with boyfriend Ben Cohen.

And she will replace one of the current pros.

Fans were angered when Robin did not return to the show a few years ago as he was expected to return after recovering from an injury.

However, Robin later claimed he was not asked back because of his age.
