Strictly Come Dancing fans have called for Brendan Cole to be axed from the show permanently after he was unable to perform last night.
The professional dancer rushed to hospital last weekend with breathing difficulties and was signed off by series bosses this week after he was diagnosed with a nasty lung infection.
His celebrity dance partner, singer Anastacia, performed with pro Gorka Marquez instead last night.
And it seems viewers were so impressed that they want Gorka to stay and Brendan to go.
Anastasia received some very positive comments from the judges after performing the quickstep, with Len Goodman saying: "Now, I don’t want to upset Brendan, but that was (her) best dance yet.
"That was 100 per cent my kind of dance. Getting a new partner is a bit like getting a new pair of shoes; it can take a while to break them in before you get comfortable. But you looked right in your comfort zone.
"You were light and bright, fun and frivolous."
And fans of the show agreed, with one person tweeting: "Can Gorka be her partner permanently? I love Brendan but that was a million times better than any other dance she’s done!"
Another person wrote: "Anastacia - ditch Brendan, stick with Gorka."
And someone else commented: "Maybe Brendan should stay away next week…"
It was revealed Brendan would not be taking part in this weekend’s live show late this week.
A source told The Sun: "He’s a perfectionist and extremely hard working so for him to have to take a back seat has been very difficult indeed.
"He has to be careful and listen to his body and a lung infection like he has is no laughing matter. He’s been resting as much as possible on doctor’s orders."
But people may be disappointed if they think Brendan is going to stay away as he may have had more to do with Anastacia and Gorka’s performance than they think.
The source added: "Obviously he’s still been very much involved but he’s had no choice but to take a back seat.
"He cannot wait to get back into the competition for next week and hopes that Anastacia and Gorka manager to get through to perform again."
