Strictly Come Dancing 2021 was an iconic series that offered us the first in many instances.

John Whaites and Johannes Radebe became the first same sex male couple to compete, Rose was the first deaf contestant when she danced alongside professional Giovanni Pernice and Judi Love twerked to Sean Paul, it was one hell of a season.

Not only did Rose break a record as the first deaf celeb to take part in the show but she went on to win the show and walk away with the glitter ball trophy.

It has been two years since the unforgettable season and our celebrity contestants have continued to keep us highly entertained. Let's see what they're up to now...

Rose Ayling Ellis

After lifting the glitterball at the end of the series, the EastEnders actress left her role as Frankie Lewis and went on to play Celia in the 2022-2023 production of As You Like It. Rose is set to star in the documentary ‘Signs for Change’ that will show viewers the discrimination and daily challenges that she and other deaf people face. Rose also became the first person to sign a CBeebies bedtime story, and collaborated with Mattel on a deaf Barbie doll, which has a hearing aid.

Tilly Ramsey

After finishing in ninth place, the daughter of legendary chef Gordon Ramsay headed off to university where she is studying psychology. Tilly also took part in Celebrity Gogglebox in 2022 alongside her dad.

Tom Fletcher

After appearing alongside dance partner Amy Dowden, Tom attended her wedding alongside his fellow band McFly where they performed their song All About You. He is also an author and was recently revealed by the BBC to be helping with their ‘Amazing Authors’ competition to help young budding writers. He will read the winner's story on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

Robert Webb

Robert withdrew from the competition after the second week due to heart problems but it now looks as though he is well recovered. Since taking part in Strictly, Robert has starred in episodes of the animated science fiction series Rick and Morty as well as the BBC series Death in Paradise.

Greg Wise

Greg hasn’t done much career-wise since Strictly but he has been fully supporting his wife, actress Emma Thompson and daughter, Gaia who recently walked in her first runway show.

John Whaite

The baker came second with his partner Johannes Radebe, they were the first male same-sex dancing couple. After leaving the show, John was due to make his stage debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella opposite Carrie Hope Fletcher however the production was canceled. He had said that starring in the show would’ve been a “dream come true”.

JUDI LOVE7 of 15

Judi Love

Judi had one of the most memorable moments of the series when she twerked to Sean Paul’s Get Busy. Since the series ended, Judi went on to star in the BBC adaptation of YA novel Noughts and Crosses as Chidi. She was also a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and took part in The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off.

Sara Davies

The Dragon’s Den entrepreneur was the seventh celebrity to be eliminated alongside her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec. Last August it was announced that Sara will be hosting a new wedding show called Master of Ceremonies alongside First Dates, Fred Sirieix.

Adam Peaty

After competing on Strictly, the professional swimmer signed a deal with Speedo and went on to compete in the 2022 Commonwealth games.

Dan Walker

The TV presenter was partnered with Nadiya Bychkova during his Strictly stint. After he was eliminated, he left the BBC and moved to presenting on Channel 5. He also made an appearance on The Weakest Link in 2022.

AJ Odoju

The TV host has gone on to do a campaign in collaboration with Channel 4 and Benenden Health called ‘Time for a Check In’ which encouraged people to open up about mental and physical health, as well as discussions around the menopause. She made an appearance on this year's Comic Relief and AJ is rumoured to host the reboot of Big Brother.

Nina Wadia

After the actress left the show, where she was paired with professional Neil Jones, Nina starred in Netflix’s The Sandman which is based on the award-winning graphic novel by Neil Gaiman.

Katie McGlynn13 of 15

Katie McGlynn

The former Coronation Street actress starred in Hollyoaks for a year as Becky Quentin before leaving the role in 2022. She recently made her stage debut in Wish You Were Dead where she played the role of Cleo Morey.

Ugo Monye14 of 15

Ugo Monye

After making his way to the fifth week before being eliminated, former rugby player Ugo continued his presenting duties for the BBC’s rugby coverage. In March 2022, he presented a new docuseries on Amazon Prime called No Woman, No Try on the 2020/2021 women’s rugby season.

Rhys Stephenson15 of 15

Rhys Stephenson

The presenter and actor, who was partnered with Nancy Xu, left the show during the semi-finals. Since then he appeared on Richard Oseman’s House of Games and has also supported a primary school in Manchester with their anti-bullying campaign.
