Simon Cowell, X Factor boss and talent show creator extraordinare, has branded the Great British Bake Off's move to Channel 4 a 'huge mistake' and has allegedly offered to help create a rival baking show for the BBC.
The 56-year-old told The Sun that he would give the channel lifetime rights to the brand new TV show, so they would never have to worry about Channel 4 dishing out the big bucks to steal it.
He told the newspaper: “I am open for business and I have got an idea for a new bread show, which involves cakes and innuendos and the BBC can have the contract for life.”
Speaking about the controversial move that saw Bake Off's production company Love Productions accept a huge £25million from Channel 4, Simon added: “Personally I think it is a mistake. I just do.
“I feel bad for the BBC, because they launched the format and it must be incredibly frustrating when you are in that position and you have got a huge hit but you can’t compete but I get the reasons why you can’t compete.”
The move hasn't been a popular one, with fans of the show saying that the show was just being 'greedy' and that the format 'belongs to the BBC'.
The show's current presenters, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, have announced that they 'won't be following the dough' over to Channel 4. Meanwhile, amidst much speculation, judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood have yet to vocalise their decision.
Mel has now landed herself another huge presenting role on brand new BBC talent show Let It Shine, alongside Gary Barlow and Graham Norton.
The show will travel the country looking to find five male singers to star in a Take That stage show.
