She is an I’m A Celebrity! legend, calling her time in the jungle one of the best experiences she’s ever had.
And now, Sam Fox – who was part of the 2009 cohort with the likes of winner Gino D’Acampo, Katie Price and Kim Woodburn – tells Closer what she thinks of this year’s campmates.
“I really love Sam [Thompson]’s energy,” the former glamour model says. “But Nella [Rose] has driven me mad from the beginning. She’s definitely playing a game and she’s got to get out as she’s not a team player. She wants to blow everything out of proportion and just start an argument.”
She adds, “I think Nigel [Farage] definitely knows what he’s doing, and he’s gone in there with a game plan. Obviously, he [got his bottom out] on purpose. He’s probably thinking of Myleene Klass back in the day, ‘Oh I might get a Marks & Spencer underwear advert out of this.’”
Sam, 57, lasted just over a fortnight in the jungle 14 years ago. The first trial saw her put a huge water spider in
her mouth – after swimming in shark-infested waters – and she famously said in her exit interview that she wished she’d done more challenges.
And now, she reveals the gruelling preparation she undertook before going Down Under.
“I remember going on holiday to Greece and trying eyeballs. Then I went to boot camp to fight my fears of heights. I got really fit – I did lots of mountain climbing, base jumping and canoeing down rafts. You never know what you’re going to get in there,” Sam says.
2022 was a big year for the former Page 3 model and singer, as she tied the knot to her tour manager Linda Birgitte Olsen, seven years after her first wife Myra Stratton tragically died from cancer.
She says of her marriage to Linda, “We’re still in our honeymoon period – we have been ever since we met.
“We both think this feeling is going to last forever, and I can just see such a happy ending to my life now. I’ve never been so much in love before.”
