She’s reportedly loved-up with her Dancing On Ice co-star Brendyn Hatfield – but Rachel Stevens has been embroiled in a scandal after her ex Jeremy Edwards suggested she cheated on him while they were together.
Jeremy, 52, and S Club 7 star Rachel, 45, dated in the early 2000s, getting engaged in 2002. But they called off their engagement the following year. Now Jeremy has suggested that she cheated on him by getting together with her now ex-husband Alex Bourne while they were still together – something she has furiously denied.
He said, “Since the story came out, it’s brought all this up again and I’ve thought about it more. I’ve thought about our relationship, and I think she did have a fling. I’d never have had her doing the bedroom bolero with a Dancing On Ice pro. I’d never in a million years have thought she would do something like this. But because of the story that’s come out, it makes me question our relationship.”
And now insiders have said that Rachel – who starred on DOI with Brendyn in 2021 – has been left feeling betrayed and frustrated over the drama.
The source tells us, “Rachel feels really targeted right now and it’s very upsetting for her. She feels so betrayed by Jeremy for claiming she was unfaithful, which she absolutely denies, and insists it’s a pack of lies. She honestly can’t believe that he would pipe up all these years later just to spread lies about her character.”
The drama also comes after the tragic death of Rachel’s bandmate Paul Cattermole. Paul, 46, was found dead at his home in Dorset on 6 April, just weeks after S Club 7 announced a major reunion tour to mark their 25th anniversary.
And the source adds that Rachel – who has two daughters, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, nine, with Alex – is doing all she can to focus on being a mum to her girls and supporting her bandmates, and that Brendyn has been her rock through it all.
The source reveals, “It’s been a tough time for her recently, what with the band reunion and everything that’s happened. Brendyn has been an amazing support to her and she doesn’t understand why people from her past are trying to paint her in this negative light. She’s doing her best to just concentrate on her two children and being a good mum while also keeping in touch with, and supporting, her bandmates through this difficult time, as they prepare for their reunion.”
