Following in the footsteps of her arch-rival Rebekah Vardy, Coleen Rooney is all set to join I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! later this week.
TV insiders have let slip that the WAG, 38, has landed the ‘biggest pay deal in the show’s history’ with other sources suggesting that her latest move could be the ‘ultimate revenge’ on Becky, who was the third celebrity to be booted out in the 2017 series.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are also reportedly planning a string of ‘Wagatha Christie’ gags, including putting money in a ‘swear jar’ every time they mention the infamous libel trial, as well as Cluedo-inspired tasks.
And now, with days to go until she jets out to the Australian jungle to join her fellow celebrities – including Tulisa and Oti Mabuse – insiders tell Closer that Coleen is determined to look her ‘absolute best’ before she embarks on the most exposing show on TV.
‘Coleen knows there will be a lot of attention on her in the jungle, and although she is fine with being pictured in a bikini when she’s on holiday, she wants to look the best she possibly can for the TV cameras,’ a source tells Closer.
‘As well as going to the gym, she has been going to spin classes and doing reformer Pilates and has increased her number of workout sessions.’
Sharing snippets of her fitness regime on Instagram, Coleen posted clips of her lifting weights and going through a series of gruelling stretches and body strength routines, and using a range of different machines.
The mum of four – who will be leaving sons Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, with husband Wayne – has also been complementing her workouts with protein shakes and electrolyte supplements, which are said to boost hydration.
Coleen has been following a healthy diet for the past five years after hiring a nutritionist in 2019. At the time, she embarked on a sugar-free detox and has since revealed that she still follows a low-carb and high-protein diet in the lead-up to big events.
She previously said, ‘I try to eat healthy and regularly, with less carbs and more protein, and before a beach holiday I’ll try to cut out all the nice stuff – crisps and chocolate.’
Her regular meals have included salad with fish or chicken, asparagus-stuffed chicken breasts, courgette noodles and sushi dishes. For breakfast, she is also said to opt for poached egg with turkey bacon or a protein shake before hitting the gym.
While she’s also been supplementing her diet with marine collagen, which is believed to increase skin elasticity and moisture, the source says that Coleen has also had a few ‘tweakments’.
‘I’ve had Botox in my forehead, but don’t tell my dad,’ she joked last year.
Now the insider adds, ‘She’s been having regular facials, as well as a little bit of Botox – she’ll also make sure she has her lashes, nails and brows done.
‘She’s not worried about going without make-up, as she rarely wears it and she loves the sun-kissed, natural look – she knows she’ll pick up a tan out there.
‘The one thing she will really miss when it comes to beauty treatments are her regular wavy blow-dries. But she figures she’ll just wear her hair up anyway, or just stick on a hat if it gets too bad!’
