It's been a busy 24 hours in the Bake-Off tent. Well, in the conversations surrounding the future of the Bake Off tent, at least.

It was announced this week that the Great British Bakeoff would be moving to Channel 4 after Love Productions (the people behind the programme) failed to reach an agreement with the BBC after over a year of negotiations.

This raised questions of what this would mean for Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, who had previously admitted they were keen to remain on the BBC.

And in the hours since the move was revealed, it's been announced that Mel and Sue have indeed quit the show, with everyone from previous winner Nadiya Hussain, Come Dine With Me's David Lamb and even Ant and Dec rumoured as taking up the mantle.

Even This Morning got in on the action, teasing an announcement of the new Bakeoff presenters only to essentially say: "It's not us."

And the speculation continues. Jamie Oliver has also spoken out, saying he'd love to be a host on the show. Speaking to a magazine he said that the programme was "really great watching" and revealed he would "love" to be involved.

He added: "We watch Bake Off. The whole family loves it... Secretly, there's always a part of me in mourning because I'd love to be one of the judges."

It's also been rumoured that Mary and Paul might walk, too. The Sun reported: "Mary and Paul believe the show works because of Mel and Sue. It’s always been the four of them together. They are all really close and constantly hang out together in between filming.

"Bake Off is the brand and it will always be popular. There’s no doubting that when Channel 4 bid for the show they dreamt that they would get the star talent too.

But they are now facing a very real situation where none of them are here when it comes back and they are preparing for that.

The show is hugely popular overseas, and neither Mary and Paul, nor Mel and Sue, are a part of those shows. Baking is what people love. The four stars are just a part of the appeal."

Hhhmmmmf.
