The Great British Bake Off has been accused of racism by viewers after the third black, Asian and minority ethnic contestant was dumped from the show.
In nail-biting scenes from this week’s chocolate episode, early fan favourite Sura served judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith a raw white chocolate celebration cake and was sent home over Lottie, who failed quite spectacularly in both the signature and technical challenges.
And fans were quick to point out that Sura was the third non-white baker to go home, with Loriea and Mak sent packing during week one and two respectively.

“This is the THIRD time a person of colour has been sent home over a white contestant!” fumed one Twitter user. “As a brown person I'm beyond upset but not surprised, I’m afraid @PaulHollywood @BritishBakeOff this needs to be sorted I’m fed up."
“I'm watching #BakeOff for the first time ever and all I am seeing is that the star baker is always a man and the eliminated baker is always a person of colour,” said another.

"Yet another #BAME contestant leaves #GBBO it's looking like more than a coincidence,” said a third while one more wrote simply, "GBBO is racist.”
However some fans thought her axing was justified with one writing, "Loads of people kicking off on Twitter saying Lottie should have left. Mate. Sura couldn't bake a cake. It was INEDIBLE."
"Why did Sura look so shocked when she was voted off?” asked another. “Can't serve a raw cake and expect to stay! It's the bake off equivalent of scoring an own goal and shouting at the keeper!"
