The line up for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Day Special has been announced, and one of our absolute faves Frankie Bridge will be there!
In total, six former contestants will take part in the seasonal show, to be aired on Christmas Day on BBC1. As well Frankie from Series 12, Billy Connely’s wife Pamela Stephenson (from series eight) is also returning, alongside athlete Denise Lewis (from Season two), Ainsley Harriot and Gethin Jones.
Melvin Odoom is also returning to the show for Christmas, after being the first contestant leave this year’s series, after a controversial exit: if you remember he was due to be in the dance off against Anastacia, but the pop star refused to dance because of injury, and as a result was allowed to stay in the competition. So poor old Melvin had to make an early exit. And we weren’t sure how over it all he was at the KISS FM’s Haunted House at Halloween, when he wore glitterball smashed into his head as part of his costume...
Each contestant will perform with one of the professionals in the Christmas special, competing to be crowned Christmas champion 2016. This show will also be the final fling on the panel for much-loved judge Len Goodman, who has already said this will be his last series of Strictly.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will host again, as veteran presenter Bruce Forsyth is too unwell to record the show. Brucey is still recovering from surgery after two incredibly serious aneurysms – get well soon Brucey – it’s not QUITE the same without you!
