Eurovision fans, could ADELE be set to sing for the UK?

Would you like to see Adele represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest?

A chief of the Eurovision Song Contest has asserted that the only way the UK has a shot of reaching the top spot in the contest is by bringing in the likes of Adele.

This year the singing competition will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, who took home the winners title in 2015.

Swedish TV producer Chris Bjorkman, who’s in charge of getting this year’s show up and running, claimed that the UK’s lack of success is down to their inability to take the competition seriously, claiming we don’t enter ‘credible’ artists.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Bjorkman explained: “If Adele was on, you could win, absolutely, or someone in that style and that type of credibility.

“That’s what you need if you want to win.”

We’re pretty such Adele would win any singing competition out there, you know, being one of the most globally successful artists of all time. We’re not entirely sure if that would be fair on the rest of our European friends…

But considering it’s been almost 20 years since the UK last won the Eurovision song contest, maybe it is time to bring out the big bucks.

Bjorkman, who entered the competition himself in 1992, went on to personally target the UK entries he didn’t deem ‘creditable’ – namely 2012’s entry, now 80 year old Englebert Humperdinck, saying the gent was ‘too old’ to perform.

Hmm.

As much as we’d love to see Adele represent us this year, considering she’s in the middle of a highly anticipated world tour, we doubt she’d have time to practise for the upcoming Eurovision… 2017, Adele?

Anyway, we’ve already got the lovely Joe and Jake of The Voice fame singing their hearts out for the UK this year, and we reckon they’ve got a good chance too.

Eurovision 2016 Grand Final is on BBC1, Saturday, May 14, 8.00pm.
