Is there any TV show that’s safe from COVID-19? Not only has it taken TOWIE and Neighbours from us but it was even rumoured Love Island could be at risk (God forbid).

As if that wasn’t bad enough, then came the news that EastEnders and Hollyoaks had postponed filming until further notice and would be airing a reduced number of episodes a week for the forseeable. Where on earth are we supposed to get our nightly fix of pure drama now?

Well, there’s no need to fret as it turns out some of our favourite streaming services are jam-packed full of gritty dramas for us to sink our teeth into and we’ve rounded up the best ones that you should binge watch next.

EastEnders and Hollyoaks aren’t the only soaps to be affected by coronavirus either as Coronation Streetscenes needed to be rewritten in the wake of the outbreak.

Actor Andrew Whyment, who came second in I’m A Celebrity… 2019, admitted work has been “tough” after the rewrites.

He took to Instagram to post a photo of himself with his wife drinking a beer after a stressful week at work and wrote, "So ready for a drink tonight been a tough week at work with rewrites and changes with some cast members having to self isolate.

"I just want to say I’m so proud of everyone @coronationstreet the way people have mucked in this week has been incredible and shows how much love there is for the show.”
