Amanda Holden regularly makes headlines for her risqué outfits, turning heads with her daring fashion choices and even once receiving thousands of OFCOM complaints over her racy wardrobe on Britain’s Got Talent.
Hitting back at her critics, Amanda, 52, defiantly said last week, “If they want to talk about my t*ts, then bring it on”, as she insisted she wouldn’t be covering up any time soon.
More disturbingly, in July, Amanda’s sexy antics launched into another scandal when “king of toxic masculinity” Andrew Tate, 36 – who is awaiting trial over sex trafficking charges, which he denies – criticised a bikini post, writing, “You are a wife and a mother and you’re far past a teenager. There is no need for this post.”
Now, insiders say the relentless drama is causing issues for Amanda’s husband of 15 years, Chris Hughes, who doesn’t want to see his wife at the centre of such an onslaught of abuse.
A source says, “Chris thinks Amanda is the most beautiful woman in the world, but seeing her under such scrutiny is making him feel uncomfortable.
“Amanda has built up a successful career over speaking her mind and not being afraid to show off her body, so she feels slightly torn over what to do next. She doesn’t want to back down or change who she is, but her marriage to Chris is also her priority.
“She’s always been happy to show Chris what she’s posting, but sometimes he wishes she could just tone it down so she didn’t have to face this backlash from some fans, and unsavoury characters such as Andrew Tate.”
The stunning mum-of-two – who’s currently fronting a new documentary, Sex: A Bonkers History – is well known for loving to get her kit off, and recently said on her show that she believes society is more prudish than ever, despite the female body being appreciated centuries ago.
She said, “It’s crazy that when you think of the hoo-ha around some of my outfits now, we’re still there [the Victorian times].
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that it’s still going on in an era when we really think that we’re ahead of the game.”
Earlier this year, the Britain’s Got Talent judge – who shares daughters Lexi, 17, and 11-year-old Hollie with record producer Chris – shot down the thousands of Ofcom complaints she received, insisting people have “too much time on their hands”.
And while Amanda has shrugged off her critics, friends say Chris is also concerned about the barrage of men making inappropriate comments about his wife’s sexy snaps on social media.
One recently commented, “I’d definitely destroy you”, after the star flaunted her incredible figure in some sexy white lingerie.
Another wrote, “Party time? Where’s my invite? She would crash OnlyFans if she ever appears.”
Recent posts the presenter has shared with her two million Instagram followers – donning sexy bikinis and racy lingerie – have also seen trolls brand her “attention-seeking” and accusing her of using her platform to “send the wrong message to young girls”.
And while Chris doesn’t want Amanda to stop showing off her incredible body, he’s worried that the unwanted attention will start to create tension between them.
The source says, “Chris understandably finds it difficult seeing all these creepy men leering over and making lewd comments online about his wife.
“It’s sparked some tension between them and Chris doesn’t want the situation to get worse. He thinks that maybe her social media feed could be a bit more balanced, so the unwanted admirers stop obsessing over her.”
During an episode of her radio show in 2021 – which she co-hosts with Jamie Theakston, 52 – Amanda described their marriage as “primal” and, discussing their sex life, said, “He [Chris] can’t keep his hands off me” as she revealed they love having sex in the shower.
The source adds, “Amanda’s consistent efforts in looking sexy have helped keep their marriage stronger than ever, so Chris has assured her he doesn’t want her to change, just to be more mindful of her actions and words.
“She’s taken on board his concerns and has admitted that she may sometimes go overboard, but it’s only because she’s so passionate about standing up for women flaunting their bodies, no matter their age or size.
“Amanda has assured Chris that he’s her number one priority and appreciates having such a wonderfully supportive husband who doesn’t try to modify her in any way.”
