Oh how we miss the '90s. Back then, the TV shows were much better: remember how we were treated to some classic series like Twin Peaks and Buffy The Vampire Slayer? Now, if you're wondering why we're reminiscing about the pre-2000 era, it's because Butlin's are hosting throwback music events dedicated to some true '90s classics, with the likes of 5ive, East 17, Cleopatra, Snap!, Baby D and many more performing. Woah!
So, to get you in the mood for a night of '90s dancing at Butlin's, we're going to take you on a trip down memory lane with some of our favourite '90s TV shows...
Saved By The Bell
This iconic high-school sitcom focused on the lives of six students, and provided us with endless hours of entertainment and comedy. Remember Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski and Screech? How could you forget!
Twin Peaks
The original Twin Peaks series was centred around FBI Agent Dale Cooper, who travelled to a town called Twin Peaks to solve a murder case. It was probably the weirdest and most eccentric show of the '90s, but it was clearly a huge success - so much so that it's now been revived and remade into a contemporary series.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
The perfect blend of comedy and horror, Buffy The Vampire Slayer will always remain the best vampire TV show out there (sorry, The Vampire Diaries). And Buffy Summers wasn't just our 1990s girl crush - she was also our style inspiration. Her iconic mini dresses and knee high boots will forever have a place in our hearts.
Home Improvement
This cheesy, silly, yet somehow highly entertaining TV show featured Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, the luckless handy-man who always used to grunt. And yes, we still have very fond memories of 'Tool Time'.
Blossom
Before Mayim Bialik joined the cast of The Big Bang Theory, she played the lead role in the TV show Blossom. Her character became a sort of style icon in her own right, because what's there not to love about big floppy flower hats and crochet cardigans? It was the '90s, after all.
Sister, Sister
The storyline for Sister, Sister may have seemed a bit far-fetched for some (it was a comedy about teen twin sisters who get reunited after being separated at birth), but we for one were avid fans. And in all honestly, we just really miss watching Tia and Tamera on our screens. Maybe we'll start a petition to bring them back.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Most catchy 1990s theme song ever? We think so. Will Smith shot to fame on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where he played the character of fictional Will, the guy who had been sent from the rough Philadelphia neighbourhood to live with his wealthy uncle in Bel-Air. But you already knew this, didn't you...
Friends
Where would we be without our beloved Friends box set? As well as teaching us the importance of friendship, the iconic long-running series also taught us important catchphrases like "How you doin'?" and "Pivot!". And of course, it also provided us with the ultimate '90s haircut - 'The Rachel'.
