If you caught this week’s episode of 5Star’s new makeover show ‘100% Hotter’, you will have seen self-confessed ‘pinkaholic’ Aggy Gillon transformed in to a stunning brunette.

Although the 25-year-old rock journalist loved the look, the temptation of going back to the pink stuff was too much for her.

Now she is back to her former colourful self and still in the pink.

In its first series, 100% Hotter has some of the country’s most outlandish self-styled individuals and give them a more ‘mature’ remodelling.

This is done with the help of hair designer Daniel K Palmer, make-up artist Melissa Sophia and fashionista Grace Woodward. We spoke to Aggy about her appearance on the show.

Love Island REJECT: ‘I spent £15k on surgery to get on the show'

“The whole experience of handing over control to the stylists was very exciting,” says Nottingham-based Aggy. “I was considering staying brunette but after a while I stopped liking what I saw in the mirror. I knew I would never change my look, in particular my hair.”

The stylists were pretty stunned by Aggy’s choice of outfit: latex crop top, frilly skirt and of course her luminous hair, all in pink.

“I don’t think my look was their cup of tea,” as Aggy puts it.

The makeover ended in a more toned-down rock chick look with a black dress, and chocolate brown hair with not one hint of pink in sight.

Although everyone, including Aggy herself, loved the look – it didn’t last so long.

“The brunette style lasted one or two months I think. So many people said to keep it but at the end of the day I would rather please myself than others when it comes to my appearance,” she said.

So why does this girl from Fife like so much about dressing entirely in pink?

“Pink is a beautiful, glamorous and uplifting colour, in my opinion. Dressing head to toe in pink and having accessories to match, which may seem overkill, but I just think it looks fabulous and it makes me happy,” she told us.

Some of her friends even share this passion and wear matching hoodies, calling themselves ‘the pink mafia’.

Aggy says she gets inspiration from rock stars such as Marilyn Manson, mixed with Moulin Rouge style burlesque performers.

However, things haven’t always been so rosy - her style has received some negative reactions in the past.

“At school I had a coffin-shaped bag and matching trench coat, people called me a Satanist, freak, and so on. I got this every day until I left high school at 15 to study journalism.

“It was a very dark time for me. I had to leave school early most days as everyone wanted to fight me. I used to get panic attacks and go home crying.”

This didn’t stop her being herself and following her dreams - these days Aggy works in the media, where her flair for bright colours has never been a problem: ”I mainly interview bands, but it has also been fine when talking to people like George Galloway about education.

“I don't think my look affects it - if anything it’s a bit different to what some of them are used to.”

Her natural colour is nearer to that of her ‘after’, brunette look.

She was anxious her boyfriend wouldn’t react well to the change: “I was worried he wouldn't fancy me after I was toned down, then he told me he thought I was still beautiful and I seem to be able to pull of any look, which was lovely!”

Would Aggy ever go back to the ‘dark-side’ after this?

“I have worn out the outfit and shoes since and I will again and I will definitely go brunette again, but maybe with some added hair extensions.”

It seems Aggy is still tickled pink with her original style.
