That’s right; the truth is out there. Again!
If you’re anything like us, you’ll be over the moon to hear that television’s most terrifying TV series is coming BACK to our screens.
And, unlike so many TV show revamps, this one is about to pack a serious punch.
Because they’ve only gone and signed up the original Mulder and Scully, too!
Yup, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as FBI agents Fox and Dana for the six-part series.
And, even better, the show’s original creator Chris Carter will be at the helm when production begins this summer.
He said: "I think of it as a 13-year commercial break.
"The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."
But do you want to know the best thing of all about this?
Well, after 200 episodes and two feature films, we’ll actually get to see Mulder and Scully working together - AFTER revealing they’re in love. And without him being on the run from the authorities, hopefully.
Plus, you know, there'll be aliens. And ghosts. And all sorts of spooky, nightmare-inducing scenes.
Because, let’s face it, even the title sequence was terrifying:
That music gives us the chills every single time.
Dana Walden and Gary Newman, of Fox Television Group, said: "We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of The X-Files - one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers - and we couldn't be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again.
"The X-Files was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture - yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning.
"Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as The X-Files and we're ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they've been waiting for."
