Mason, 21, crashed out of the Six Chair Challenge when he threw a strop over the amount of air time he received during Boot Camp.

But, last week, Nick Grimshaw revealed he was bringing the Birmingham-based waiter back.

Discussing his second chance, Mason said: “It would mean that I have the opportunity to show the public a different side to me and change the perception that they have of me from that one audition.”

Although his tantrum almost cost him his place in the competition, Mason insisted the hardest part for him was Boot Camp, and having to say goodbye to his friends.

He continued: “It was the decision at Boot Camp going in to Six Chairs, as a lot of my friends were distraught at not getting through. You never want to see them that way or have to say goodbye.

Mason stormed from the stage during the Six Chair Challenge

“I didn’t have to say goodbye to anyone at Six Chairs as I was escorted out by security.”

And, despite the fact he came across as a bit egotistical, Mason insisted he doesn’t think he’s the best.

“I would never say that I am the strongest singer, but I can dance. I’m a bit more of a performer.”
