The Sun reported that Mel will be able to pick from Louis' axed groups, Cheryl can choose from Mel's boys, Louis will bring back one of Simon's over 25s and he can give Cheryl a girl she really didn't want to mentor.

This will mean that, instead of the usual final 12 for the live shows, there will be 16 acts altogether competing to become the winner.

Viewers will see the judges and contestants go through the gruelling six chair challenge this weekend. Each judge has to fill six sets with contestants to take to the next round, but the acts can be switched in and out.

Meanwhile, Tulisa, 26, confirmed this week that she returned to the show this year. Reports suggested that she would be helping Louis out at his judge's houses round.
