According to sources, Lauren Platt, 17, Lola Saunders, 20, Chloe-Jasmine Whichello, 23, and 20-year-old Stephanie Nala have been clashing – forcing their 31-year-old mentor to step in.

Lauren allegedly kicked the arguing off after laying into Chloe, following her request for a stylist.

The teen is then said to have turned on Stephanie and reduced her to tears.

Chloe was also allegedly critical of Lola, which is when Cheryl stepped in and warned the jazz singer about her behaviour.

A source told The Sun: "The girls category is at risk of being torn apart by infighting and Cheryl is not happy.

"Cheryl was especially concerned about Chloe-Jasmine, so she took her to one side for a chat."

Meanwhile wildcard contestant Lola last night blew everyone away with her stunning rendition of John Lennon's Imagine.

The former fishmonger even managed to impress Katie Hopkins, with the social commentator praising Lola on Twitter.

Katie wrote: "Lola is de-lovely and delicious. If this is a competition to find one of life's true gems, then it has unearthed a beauty. #xfactor"
