The 26-year-old took to Twitter to confirm the news, after it was announced on Thursday night’s Xtra Factor.
Monica gushed: “Hi guys! I know Halloween is upon us but this is not a trick… I AM BACK!!!! #XtraFactor #WildCard [sic].”
Head judge Simon Cowell spoke about the decision to bring youth worker Monica back, insisting Rita Ora’s category wouldn’t have been complete without her.
He said: “I just thought I have to bring her back. Rita’s got three great girls but the show wouldn’t be the same without her.
“There was always going to be a Wild Card. It’s not a given, but we always like that opportunity. Funny enough we all spoke to each other on Monday… it is crazy not to bring one person back.”
Monica’s mentor Rita, 24, confessed that not putting Monica through had been making her lose sleep.
She said: “I couldn’t sleep Sunday night thinking about Monica and if I could convince the other judges of giving her a Wild Card.”
Monica also tried out for the show last year, where she failed to make it past the six chair challenge.
