Imagine if Rita Ora had actually taken up the offer of being the British entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009? Would she still be the incredible artist she is today?
We think so, because she absolutely nailed it. But, in typical Eurovision tradition – we would have probably ended up with only a little over nul points. So maybe it is best that she turned it down.
Rita’s audition for the competition has come to light and, in the video, you see “Rita, from London” belting out Get Here by Oleta Adams on the TV show, Your Country Needs You.
And boy, does she look young.
Although Rita was offered the gig, she turned it down and singer Jade McEwan took her place, with It’s My Time.
