As the Greeks would say: Opa!
Yup, the folks over at Universal Studios have debuted the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel of all sequels, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2… over a decade after the original film rocked our worlds.
In My Big Fat Greek Wedding, we watched as Toula (Nia Vardalos) broke the traditions of her VERY Greek family to marry the love of her life, Ian (John Corbett).
They dished out a lot of life lessons, gave us a lot of epic quotes, ate a LOT of lamb, and downed a lot of ouzo.
But what happened after Toula and Ian tied the knot?
Time to find out:
Yup, they moved into the house next door to the Portokalos family, and gave birth to a daughter, Paris.
But, now that she’s a teenager, Paris is failing to embrace Greek culture — even though she’s surrounded by it.
Cue her applying to colleges VERY far away, and leaving Toula and Ian free to try and rekindle the flames (if you know what we mean).
When it turns out that Toula’s parents were never legally married, the Portokalos’s come together to plan an even bigger and fatter wedding… but will it be enough to convince Paris that it’s cool to be Greek?
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is directed by filmmaker Kirk Jones and will once again written by actress / filmmaker Nia Vardalos - which suggests it will be AWESOME.
It should hit UK cinemas in early 2016 - are you excited?
