It's that time of the year once again... the X Factor will be taking over our screens (and our lives) for the next few months, and it starts this weekend! Make sure you tune into ITV on Saturday AND Sunday for new twists and turns.

And, of course, it's the CBB final... Which we wouldn't dream of missing! There's also Thor: The Dark World - all we're going to say is: Chris Hemsworth. Yum.

Friday 26th August

Celebrity Big Brother: Live Final, Channel 5, 9pm

We still can’t believe the amount of shouting and hulabuloo that’s gone on in this series of CBB. Possibly going down in history as the Big Brother where everybody HATED EACH OTHER, we have been gripped.

Tonight, following a week where Channel 5 is mostly showing the high-dramz in the house, Emma crowns one argumentative so-and-so the winner. Best keep them all separated at the wrap party…

Bear

The Blues Brothers, Dave, 9pm

This is always worth a watch. Jake (John Belushi) is released from prison and reunites with his brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) and together they go on a crazy road trip, getting into scrapes and trying to raise enough money to get their own blues band back together. Along the way there’s plenty of mirth and amazing tunes.

Saturday 27th August

The X Factor, ITV, 8pm (New Series) - Saturday & Sunday

After ruthlessly branding last year’s judging line-up a “mistake”, Simon is back with his old pals Sharon Osbourne, Nicole ‘Sch-mazing’ Scherzinger and Louis Walsh to give you an excellent reason to hibernate each Saturday night between now and Christmas.

And, like a welcome blast from the past, Si’s brought back the more intimate ‘room’ auditions rather than the studio audience, and loveable Dermot O’Leary is back at the helm and doling out more of his famous hugs than ever.

In a new twist, new Xtra Factor hosts Matt Edmondson and Rylan Clark-Neal will be live after each show giving their take on the auditions. Yay! Bring it on.

Casualty - 30th Anniversary Episode, BBC1, 8pm

Where to start with this one? It’s the 30th anniversary episode (a feature-length one at that), and it’s all happening.

Everyone’s planning Charlie’s big bash and it’s business as usual in the ED (including a mardy patient played by none other than Pam St Clements), but what everyone wants to know is whether Connie and Grace – forced off the road by nasty Steph – will survive their crash.

We’re not going to tell you, but it’s safe to say that, well this is Casualty and nothing is plain sailing, especially when a major disaster hits Holby.

Last Vegas, C4, 9pm

Four friends in their late 60s – Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Klein – get ready for the trip of a lifetime when one of them announces that he’s getting married to a woman half his age and intends on having his stag do in Vegas. Zimmer frames and pills in tow, they hit LV and party like it’s 1959.

Sunday 28th August

Victoria, ITV, 9pm (New Series) - Sunday & Monday

This plush new eight-part drama – which reportedly cost a whopping £10million to make, and which ITV hopes will be the next Downton Abbey - stars former Doctor Who sidekick Jenna Coleman as Queen Victoria.

It follows her journey from a sheltered 18-year-old with a weakness for too much champagne thrust into the spotlight, to meeting and falling in love with Prince Albert.

The series kicks off with Victoria’s coronation, and explores her massive crush on Prime Minister Lord Melbourne – played by dashing Rufus Sewell so who can blame her? Brilliant Sunday night viewing.

**DID YOU KNOW? ** The show’s creator Daisy Goodwin has hinted there are plenty of raunchy scenes to come, saying: “All I will say is Victoria and Albert had nine children in 17 years.”

In real life, Albert was said to have installed a special lock in their bedroom to make sure the couple were never disturbed!

Are You Being Served?, BBC1, 9pm

Whether or not you watched the phenomenally popular show in the 1970s, this one-off revival celebrating 60 years of TV sitcoms will give you a taste of all the in-jokes (“I’m free!”) as stars including Sherrie Hewson, Mathew Horne and Jorgie Porter recreate the classic show.

Also Watch: Porridge, BBC, 9.30pm

Ellie Simmonds: Swimming With Dolphins, ITV, 7pm

She might feel at home in the water after swimming her way to a gold medal in the Paralympics, but if loveable Ellie Simmonds wants to achieve her other lifelong dream of swimming with dolphins she first needs to conquer her fear of the sea as she travels to Mozambique to see these beautiful creatures in the wild.

Bank Holiday Monday 29th August

Sixteen And Super Rich, C4, 10pm

Millionaires Tony and Barrie Drewitt-Barlow shot to fame in 1999 as the first British gay dads to pay a surrogate to have their own kids.

Fast forward to the present day, and twins Aspen and Saffron have lived a life of luxury and are gearing up to celebrate turning sixteen. But what’s life like in this remarkable family?

Celebrity Home Secrets, ITV, 8pm (New Series)

Celebs revisit their former home to share their memories, starting with Brit actor Nigel Havers reminiscing about the Rolling Stones visiting his London flat when he was 15.

Make My Body Better With Davina Mccall, C4, 8pm

This week, Davina meets 27-year-old teaching assistant John, who tips the scales at a life-threatening 32 stone. Eek!

Step forward Davina, who’s determined to help him out and achieve his goal of losing a whopping 15 stone.

Celebs Go Dating, E4, 10pm (New Series)

If celebs can’t find love, what hope do we have? There’s clearly a love-drought in celeb-land, as singletons Charlotte Crosby, Joey Essex, Stephanie Pratt, Tyger Drew-Honey, YouTube’s Jack Jones, and Tattoo Fixers’ Paisley are being set up with non-celebs in the hope of finding love. Be on your best behaviour, guys!

Thor: The Dark World, BBC1, 8.30pm

You can’t move for superhero movies at the moment, but at least this one has some gorgeous people to look at. Buff Chris Hemsworth returns as the Nordic superhero in the second Thor adventure, alongside Tom Hiddleston who also returns as evil old Loki.

This time around an ancient race who Thor has had previous with, known as the Dark Elves led by Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), returns with a weapon called Aether to wreak more havoc. Thor has to team up with Loki to defeat this new/old foe.
