Happy birthday to Gladys the gorilla, who is now one years old. To celebrate her special day, she was gifted a pretty pink cake.
Which is all well and good, except for the fact that there were two bigger gorillas in the enclosure. And, just like Gladys, they also had a taste for fruit-encrusted cake.
Poor Gladys. Her little face as she creeps up and sneaks a lick of her very own birthday cake is one we won't forget.
However, despite the cake drama, Gladys' story is a happy one; after she was rejected by her mother and hand-reared by staff at Cincinnati Zoo, she was adopted by another kindly gorilla and has flourished in her care.
Fingers crossed her new mum can help her stand up for herself in matters of cake in the future.
