Kym Marsh is VERY keen for her pal Suranne Jones to return to Coronation Street

Most of us know Suranne Jones as Karen McDonald, who was a character on Corrie from 2000 - 2004 - but some will know her for her more recent character - Doctor Foster, for which she won an NTA Award recently.

And many fans have been keen to see her return to Coronation Street for the first time in 14 years in the wake of her success as Doctor Foster, something that she herself has admitted she would consider.

She's previously been quoted as saying: “If we were going to raise a lot of money, I’d definitely consider doing it for Comic Relief.

“I’m still friends with Jennie McAlpine (aka Fiz Stape) and Antony Cotton (Sean Tully) so I do catch up with what’s happening in Corrie. When I found out Steve had a love child I was gobsmacked!"

And now her pal and Corrie co-star Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle O'Connor, has said she's keen for Suranne to return and 'sort out' her ex-husband Steve.

She said, according to The Sun: “Suranne has said she would consider a return to 'Corrie' if it was for Comic Relief after hearing that her on-screen husband Steve McDonald had a secret child last year.

“Suranne has done brilliantly since leaving the show but I think a lot of people still remember her from her time on the show, so it would be good fun to get her back for a short stint - and Steve could certainly do with someone sorting him out!"

Kym also added: “I heard that she's been having talks in Los Angeles to become a TV producer, which is very impressive. It's always nice to see a former co-star go on to do so well.”
