In between frantic rehearsals for this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing, as the final looms, it seems that Ore Oduba has agreed to spend a day on the This Morning sofa this Thursday with Holly Willoughby – filling in for Phillip Schofield who has other filming commitments.
Ore, 31, has been wowing audiences on Strictly this year, as his lively routines have proved he’s a natural, despite never really having danced before he started the show.
Presenting also comes naturally to Ore: his day job as a sports presenter has seen him already nailing breakfast TV on the BBC Breakfast sofa, but it turns out he’s a huge fan of This Morning, and now he's switching sofas.
Ore was a guest on This Morning earlier this month and took to Twitter afterwards to share his excitement: ‘Tried to play it cool on air… Now we’re done, can I just say I love This Morning. Thanks for having me,’ he tweeted.
Now Ore has agreed to present with Holly and we can’t wait to see this new combination! A source said: "Ore has agreed with BBC bosses to take some time out from rehearsals to do the show. Everyone is really excited."
Ore told The Mirror: "I’m really excited to be hosting This Morning with Holly. I’ve watched and loved the show for years. For me, it’s one of TV’s crown jewels.
"I can’t wait to meet the team and huge thanks to Phillip for allowing me to hop into his seat for the day."
This Morning’s editor, Martin Frizzell opened up about Schofield’s replacement: "It was great to see Ore enjoy his experience so much on the show recently.
"Being such a fan of the show I’m sure he’ll adapt his presenting skills brilliantly to the pace and variety of content throughout the morning. We look forward to welcoming him this Thursday."
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am and Ore will be doing his first day on the This Morning sofa on Thursday.
