Snow: Expectation vs Reality

As many of us realised this morning, our expectations of snow are usually VERY different to the reality

EXPECTATION: Snow will turn this world into a beautiful winter wonderland

It's going to be just like Narnia!

REALITY: Snow will ruin our hair, our shoes, and our day

Ugh. So soggy and cold.

EXPECTATION: You're going to make the most of the snow with a meticulously planned out snow day.

It's going to be great!

REALITY: Ugh.

Everyone else is at work or at school. Sucks to be you.

EXPECTATION: You're going to have the most perfect snowy moment with someone special

Mmmm, romance in the snow is the best kind of romance.

REALITY: Snowballs are just too tempting…

It's all going to end in tears, y'know.

EXPECTATION: You're going to look so whimsical and beautiful out there in the snow

I shall skip, and I shall twirl, and I shall catch tiny snowflakes on my tongue like a fairy.

REALITY: LOL!

Yeah, just no.

EXPECTATION: You're going to build a snowman

It's going to be magical.

REALITY: It ain't gonna be like the movies, kid

So building a snowman is hard and it takes FRICKIN' HOURS to do. Who knew?

EXPECTATION: Crisp winter walks!

Mmm, we love the outdoors when it's all fresh and white and fluffy.

REALITY: Struggling to navigate snow-turned-ice without slipping

Sigh.

EXPECTATION: The world will talk about the UK's snowpocalypse forever

It's essentially the Day After Tomorrow.

REALITY: The rest of the world is laughing at us and our inability to handle weather.

Seriously, have you ever seen Canada before? Or Iceland? Or anywhere with snow? HAVE YOU?!
