Here’s everything you need to know about the star.
Early life
Kieron Courtney Dyer, 36, was born on 29 December 1978 in Ipswich. He made his footballing debut in 1995, playing for Ipswich Town youth.
Family
He has two sons, Kie, 15, and Kayden, nine, with childhood sweetheart Josie Jefferson.
When he was seven, Kieron lost his little brother to stillbirth. He’s now a patron for The Jude Brady Foundation, which raises awareness of stillbirth and neonatal death.
It was confirmed that his fee for I’m a Celebrity will be donated to the charity.
In 2008, Kieron’s sister Kirsha was jailed for five years after being found guilty of dealing heroin and crack cocaine.
Career
In 1996, aged 17, Kieron made his debut at Watford FC. He later moved to Newcastle in 1999, before completing a transfer to West Ham in 2007.
Kieron played his first England game in 2009.
In 2008 he spoke out about investing his money. He told the Ipswich Star: “I don't see 80 per cent of my pay packet each month. I have agents and financial advisors who look after my money.
“I have a portfolio of about 30 houses in this country and worldwide. And I'm not alone in that, many footballers do. People think you are flash because you have got a nice car, but that's ludicrous.”
Kieron retired from professional football in 2012, and returned to Watford FC to coach.
Controversies
In 2005 Kieron was involved in an on-pitch punch up with his Newcastle teammate.
He later admitted to goading Lee into hitting out. Kieron told the CronicleLive: “He said, ‘You never pass to me!’ I said, ‘The reason I don’t pass to you is because you’re s*** basically’.
“There was a lot of swear words. And that was it, then just saw him lose his head.”
In 2000 Kieron went to Aiya Napa with fellow England stars Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard, after they missed out on a place in the Euro 2000 squad.
While there, the three footballers were allegedly filmed romping with women – and the tape is said to be doing the rounds online ahead of Kieron’s jungle debut.
Writing in his autobiography, Rio said: “My performance was on the same tape. But it wasn’t at the same time. It was not all one big orgy.”
