It's been a while since we indulged in "babes, books and Mr. Belding" at Bayside High. Last year, the original cast of the teen sitcom appeared in a hilarious skit on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

But it hasn't been all laughs and starring roles in the intervening years. See what your teen idols are up to now...

Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris)

The Californian boy next door reprised his role for Saved By The Bell: The College Years in the early nineties. He’s appeared in a string of shows on the small screen, most notably as Detective John Clark in NYBD Blue and TNT legal dramas, Raising The Bar and Franklin & Bash.

Back in 2009, he told People magazine he dated all three of his female co-stars at one point during the show’s production. Between sitcoms, he moonlights as a race car driver.

His action-flick with Bruce Willis, Precious Cargo, will be in cinemas this summer.

Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski)

In the mid nineties, cheerleader Tiffani starred as Valerie Malone in the smash-hit series, Beverly Hills, 90210. After a string of made-for-TV movies, Tiffani played FBI agent Elizabeth Burke in White Collar. She is currently hosting fellow celebs for the Cooking Channel’s, Dinner at Tiffani’s.

In 2011, Justin Bieber wore a “Kelly” t-shirt to the MTV Awards in homage to his boyhood crush. Tiffani returned the love with a Biebs top at the New York premiere of Horrible Bosses. How cute.

Dustin Diamond (Samuel "Screech" Powers)

In 2006, Dustin directed and starred in a sex tape disturbingly titled, Screeched - Saved by the Smell. A few years later, he published a tell-all book about his SBTB cast mates, Behind the Bell. Not surprisingly, the expose failed to impress die hard fans who were appalled by claims of sordid backstage antics.

In 2013, Dustin appeared in series 12 of Celebrity Big Brother. The year after, he was arrested for possession of a switchblade knife (the mugshot above is from the trial). On 25th June 2015, he was sentenced to four months in prison, making him all the more appealing (and expensive) for reality TV.

Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle)

saved by the bell then and now

After SBTB, Lark toughed it out in bit-roles until NBC’s, In the House, alongside LL Cool J. The Nashville beauty appeared in the music video for “On Bended Knee” by Boyz II Men and Montell Jordan's "Somethin' for the Honeyz”.

In 2006, Lark attempted to sue The National Enquirer for claims she had a drug problem but the case was dropped after a month. She has publicly denied being bipolar after her mother told People magazine she suffered from the condition.

Since 2010, she has published three new age books including one that has a comma, after, every, word. Yes, seriously.

Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano)

saved by the bell then and now

Teen model Elizabeth is best known for her role as exotic dancer, Nomi Malone, in Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls, winning the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress in a movie now considered to be a cult classic.

In the early noughties, Elizabeth appeared on and off Broadway in Lenny, Sly Fox and Hurlyburly. She guest starred in a number of hit series including CSI: Miami, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

In 2013, she published a book, Ask-Elizabeth, based on her self-help programme for teenage girls. In the same year, Elizabeth lasted nine weeks on Dancing With The Stars.

Mario Lopez (AC Slater)

Mario is best-known as the TV host for the entertainment news programme, Extra, and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. In 2013, he co-hosted series 2 of The X Factor with Khloe Kardashian, going solo for the third season.

Mario has stayed in shape, cashing in on his hot bod with three books: Mario Lopez Knockout Fitness, Extra Lean, and Extra Lean Family. In 2011, he released a children's book entitled Mario and Baby Gia.

Earlier this year, Mario played Vince Fontaine in the Grease: Live television special. He's the voice of “Social Smurf” in the upcoming movie, Get Smurfy.

Dennis Haskins (Mr Belding)

saved by the bell then and now

Since ruling the roost at Bayside, Dennis has made cameo appearances in hit shows, How I Met Your Mother (as a judge) and Mad Men (as a kitchen scientist for Cool Whip!)

In 2009, he released "Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal Dennis" where he sings “Piano Man” and a “Mustang Sally” duet with Hulk Hogan's daughter, Brooke.

Dennis is a fan of pro wrestling, appearing in multiple episodes of Z! True Long Island Story, a YouTube series by WWE wrestler, Zack Ryder.

In 2014, he played a snake oil salesman in the movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West, featuring Charlize Theron, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson.

And just in case you haven't heard it for a while, here's the awesome theme tune to our favourite teen show:
