Rylan Clark-Neal and husband Dan Neal are set to be the first gay couple to host The Morning as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford jet off on holiday.
ITV bosses have lined up Rylan and Dan to host the two-hour daytime show on July 8 after their impressive interview with Christopher Cramp.
The pair interviewed Christopher – the first person to have a Civil Partnership when it became law in the UK in 2005, who sadly lost his partner a day later to terminal cancer - on This Morning shortly after their own wedding.
Rylan previously told The Mirror: “Obviously, me and Dan do a lot of work together away from TV on the development side, so we are used to doing stuff like that.
“But to do stuff on camera together was a little bit strange. But I really enjoyed doing it. It was really nice and it felt easy because it was something we both wanted to talk about.”
Rylan and Dan wed in November 2015 amongst friends and family, including Big Brother host Emma Willis and Rylan’s Big Brother housemate Claire Richards from Steps – who was also bridesmaid!
A source told the paper: “Rylan is hugely popular with the This Morning audience and working with Dan again will provide key chemistry a show like this requires with its hosts.”
Rylan first shot to fame on The X Factor in 2012, and has since gone on to appear in other reality TV shows, as well as presenting on This Morning and his new late night chat show, Up With Rylan.
Former police officer Dan was part of Scotland Yard’s Operation Yewtree, which probed the Jimmy Savile scandal as well as other high-profile celebrity cases.
We can’t wait to see the couple present This Morning together!
