Sarah-Jane Crawford confirmed earlier this year that she was quitting the show after one series, meaning the ITV2 spinoff show is need of a new host.
Now it's been reported that Rochelle Humes, 26, is in the running to take over from Sarah-Jane.
A source told the Express: "The decision over who will take over on the Xtra Factor will be made soon and Rochelle is one of the leading contenders.
"She's got a lot of presenting experience, she's funny and likeable and knows how the pop game works."
As well as teaming up with hubby Marvin to co-present This Morning occasionally, Rochelle also fronts ITV's Ninja Warrior UK and Sweat The Small Stuff on BBC Three.
There's no denying Rochelle knows what she's talking about when it comes to music, having been in the industry since she was 12-year-old.
However a spokesperson for the show refused to confirm or deny the news, insisting that an official announcement will be made soon.
YouTube sensation Zoella was previously linked to the job, but she took to Twitter to dismiss the rumours.
